Thank you to Paula from Paula’s Place for holding Storybook Sunday.
The Smallest Bilby Series
Written by Nette Hilton Illustrated by Bruce Whatley
The Smallest Bilby is clever and kind. He is the star of these three gorgeous books. Two of the titles are stories that fit into teaching about Easter, with an Australian flavour.
Each book tells a little tale about the Smallest Bilby and the animals at River Bend. The illustrations are done in pen and ink. The pictures show each animal’s personality with humour and attention to detail. The stories with an Easter theme, help to show how the Smallest Bilby gets the job of delivering the eggs and tells about the first time he and his friends deliver the eggs on Easter eve.
I have enjoyed reading each of these stories to my own children and students in younger grade classes. All have enjoyed them. I particularly love the Easter themed books and we get these out each Easter and enjoy reading them over and over in the lead up.
Over at my Teachers Pay Teachers store, I have packs of worksheets to match each of the Easter books.
Wishing you a very Bilby Easter!
