There is a new kid on the block and they sell resources for Australian teachers. There are some great reasons to check out the newly minted Designed by Teachers site, these are my top five
All the designers are Australian
This means all the resources are created with the real needs of Australian educators in mind. You don’t need to wade through hundreds of not-quite-right resources created by people who don’t get the Australian context.
Resources are linked to the Australian Curriculum
Try it for yourself, type in a content description code and see what pops up. You will see resources that match the demands of the curriculum you are working with every day.
You are buying products using Australian dollars
This is a big one at the moment, with the Australian dollar losing value against the US dollar. The price you see is the price you actually pay, there is no increase as a result of conversion.
Buying local supports local educators and classrooms
Your hard earned money goes to other hard working educators in your own school communities. Buying local encourages designers to provide products that meet your needs.
Networking with people in the Australian education scene is fun
The designers at Designed by Teachers know the local education community so they are interesting to get to know. Many of the designers are bloggers, so you can see and hear about the things they do in their classrooms and schools.
I have joined the very wonderful community of DBT, you can find my store here.
I have a Facebook group devoted just to my DBT friends, please come on over and join.
